Application Process
Applications for the 6th virtual mentoring cohort are due Sunday, January 18, 2025.
Purpose
The Education Committee is pleased to again offer the Virtual Mentoring Program! This initiative provides professional mentoring to all ASNR members, regardless of their career level—whether students, postdoctoral fellows, early career, mid-career, or senior professionals—to support their ongoing development. Applicants have a year-long opportunity with a mentor. This initiative is open to ASNR members only. Please note that the goal of this program is to provide professional mentorship but is NOT meant to guide your research or specific scientific advice. The program seeks to aid individuals in building professional collaborations across career levels.
Program
This program has two Components:
One-on-One Mentoring:
- Mentees will be paired with mentors and will have 4 one-on-one virtual meetings conducted quarterly for approximately 1 hour per meeting.
- The mentee will prepare a short list of questions or topics related to their professional development needs before each meeting. We encourage a broad scope of questions for these one-on-one meetings.
Group Meetings:
- These meetings will be held two times a year and feature all participating mentors and mentees. During this time, mentees will be able to learn from mentors with a diverse range of experiences in topics related to professional development.
Applicants
- Trainees (masters/graduate students, residents, postdoctoral & clinical fellows)
- Junior faculty (Instructor, Assistant Professor)
- Individuals can have basic, translational, or clinical backgrounds
