Q: Do you have children?
A: 4 scattered around the country: Brian, Melissa, Amy and Michael.

Q: Do you have pets?
A: One dog (Lillie) and one turtle (Ted). Have had Ted for 25 years.

Q: What is your favorite book?
A: Not one favorite book. I like history, biographies and occasional historical novels.

Q: What factors influenced your career choice?
A: Serious illness of a close cousin at age 12, shadowing experience with a local GP when I was a teenager.

Q: What is one important skill every person should have?
A: The ability to listen.

Q: What's your favorite holiday?
A: Thanksgiving.

Q: What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten?
A: Kangaroo
