FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When is the deadline for abstract submissions?
The deadline for submitting an abstract for the 2025 Annual Meeting is Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 11:59pm (US-CST).
Does ASNR grant extensions for the abstract submissions?
Extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis, decided by the Program Chair. Please email the executive office at info@asnr.com to request an extension.
Is there a word limit on abstract titles?
Yes, abstract titles are limited to 50 words.
How should abstract titles be submitted?
Abstract titles should be in title case.
Is there a word limit for the body of the abstract?
Yes, abstracts are limited to 500 words.
How do disclosures get reported?
On the second page of the submission site, list any commercial and/or conflicts of interest under the question “Do the author(s) have any commercial interests or associations that might pose a conflict of interest regarding this submission?”
How do acknowledgments get reported?
On the second page of the submission site, list any funding acknowledgements under the question “Do the author(s) have any funding acknowledgements relating to this research?”
Can my abstract include tables or graphs?
The submission site does not accommodate table or graphs.
Does the first author need to be the presenting author?
The submission site allows you to select which author will be presenting the poster.
Is there a fee to submit an abstract?
No, however the presenting author will need to be registered for the Annual Meeting.
Do authors need to be members of ASNR?
No, however we encourage presenters to join ASNR and take advantage of reduced registration fees and other member benefits.
What is ASNR’s policy for mentioning off-label use or use of trade-names?
If a medicine or device is listed it must be listed as the generic (for a medicine) and noted that this is off-label. Additionally, if a medicine or device is mentioned it is important that the authors declare whether they have a conflict of interest with the manufacturer, such as receiving research or personal support.
Is pending data allowed?
ASNR does allow pending data if the data will be in-hand and presented in the abstract during the Annual Meeting.
Does ASNR accept abstracts without results?
In general, abstracts without results will not be accepted for presentation. Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Will all accepted abstracts be published in the Journal of Neurorehabilitation & Neural Repair?
Only abstracts that are accepted into the program AND presented at the Annual Meeting will be published in the Journal of Neurorehabilitation & Neural Repair.
